Guidelines

WHEN CONSIDERING SWIMMING WITH AN INJURED LIMB ATTENTION TO THE FOLLOWING IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED:
•Use the LIMBO in a bath first to ensure familiarity with the product and follow the instructions supplied with the product.
•Stay within your depth, ie walk and splash about rather than swim.
•Kicking of legs under water is not recommended and could affect the bone healing through undue stress. The same would apply to an arm with a fractured bone.
•Supervise the use by children at all times.
•On LEG Models ensure some cushioning is worn between the foot of the cast and the LIMBO, (eg a thick sock)

The LimbO protector is a comfortable, easy-to-use, reusable waterproof protector which can be completely submerged. It is a self-sealing, self-supporting garment which prevents the penetration of water to plaster casts and wound dressings on arms or legs during bathing. It is simple and comfortable to use and will last through the average user’s duration of treatment. The LimbO provides a significant quality of life improvement for the user. It is a non-sterile product and is primarily intended for use in a bath or shower. As the LimbO is robust and waterproof it can be used for swimming or in hydro pools provided some basic common sense precautions are taken. The LimbO can be used to enable wearer to enjoy gentle swimming or paddling, taking the sensible safety precautions detailed below, or as part of a care program in hydrotherapy pools under nursing supervision.
